Ugandan imports of silica sand are expected to reach 1.1 million kilograms by 2026, growing at an average of 2.1% year on year. Since 1999, Ugandan demand has jumped by almost 10% annually. In 2021, Uganda was ranked 89th in terms of silica sand imports, with 998,780 kilograms. Mauritius was the leader, followed by Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium. Since 2015, Ugandan supply has decreased by around 11% year on year. In 2018, the country was ranked 81st, with Mozambique the leader at 20,000 kilograms. The United States, Belgium and Germany came in second, third and fourth, respectively.
