Exports of Japanese silica sand plummeted by nearly half in 2019 compared to the year before. Since 1993, the supply of Japan's silica sand has dropped by 78.7%. Armenia topped the list of exporters of Japanese silica sand, with the United States, Belgium and Germany respectively coming in second, third and fourth. Meanwhile, imports of Japanese silica sand rose by 3.4% in 2019 compared to the year before. However, since 1993, demand for Japanese silica sand has decreased by 74.9%. Ecuador was the top importer of Japanese silica sand, with Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium following in second, third and fourth place.
