Exports of British silica sand are expected to reach roughly 73 million kilograms by 2026, a decrease of 1.5% year-on-year from 79.8 million kilograms in 2021. Since 1998, British supply has dropped 2.3% year-on-year. In 2021, Russia came in first with 79.8 million kilograms, followed by the United States, Belgium and Germany. Imports of British silica sand are projected to reach almost 198 million kilograms by 2026, an increase of 1.4% annually from 181.6 million kilograms in 2021. Since 1998, British demand has risen 4.7% year-on-year. In 2021, Thailand led the way with 181.6 million kilograms, followed by Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium. British silica sand sales hit €103 million in 2019, up 3.4% on the year before from €99.7 million. The Netherlands led the way with €103 million, followed by Germany, France and the Netherlands.
