Latvia's imports of silica sand are set to reach 14.5 million kilograms in 2026, down 0.4% from 2021's 14.9 million kilograms. Since 1999, demand has increased by 5.8% year-on-year, putting the country in 53rd place in 2021, just behind Lithuania's 14.9 million kilograms. Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium came in second, third and fourth respectively. Exports of Latvian silica sand fell 4.8% year-on-year in 2021, to 806,530 kilograms - down from 846,740 kilograms in 2020. Despite this, since 2001 supply has increased by 25.8%. Latvia ranked 63rd in 2021, with Luxembourg overtaking it with 806,530 kilograms. The US, Belgium and Germany came in second, third and fourth respectively.
