India is set to see an increase of 1.7% year on year in its imports of silica sand by 2026, reaching almost 95 million kilograms. This is up from 85 million kilograms in 2021, a 5.2% rise since the figure in 1993. Morocco came first in the 2021 rankings, followed by Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium. Meanwhile, Indian silica sand exports totalling 5.3 million kilograms in 2021 saw a 1.8% decrease compared to the year before. This was a 14.1% drop since 1993. South Africa was first in the 2021 rankings, with the US, Belgium and Germany following.
