Bahrain's imports of silica sand are set to reach almost a billion kilos by 2026, with an average annual growth rate of 4%, according to figures from 2005 to 2021. In 2021, Bahrain ranked 11th, importing 774 million kilos. The US topped the list, with Slovenia, Singapore and Belgium following. Bahrain's exports of silica sand also showed a significant rise in 2018, reaching 144 thousand kilos, a 31.9% increase on 2017's 108 thousand kilos. Again, the US was the main importer, followed by Belgium and Germany. Zambia was the number one exporter of Bahrain's silica sand.
