The global rum market is booming. Imports are projected to reach nearly $1.9 billion by 2026, an increase of 0.7% year-on-year. Since 2017, global demand has jumped 3.4%. In 2021, Germany topped the list of rum importers, at $281 million. Italy, the United States and Spain followed in second, third and fourth place. Saint Lucia saw an impressive jump of 51.5% year-on-year, while Seychelles fell 39.3% since 2017. Exports of rum are set to reach $1.5 billion by 2026, a growth of 1.2% year-on-year on average. Supply has gone up 3.9% since 2016. In 2021, Germany led the way in rum exports, with $177 million. The US, Italy and France followed in second, third and fourth place. Hungary saw an astonishing rise of 491.6% year-on-year, while Cyprus fell 44.1% since 2016.
