Global aluminium import is expected to reach almost $201 billion by 2026, up from $188 billion in 2021. This is an annual growth rate of 1.2%. Since 2017, global demand has increased by 5.8% each year. In 2021, the US was the top aluminium importer, with $26 billion. Germany, Japan, and France followed in second, third and fourth place. Mozambique saw the strongest growth, with a 31.9% increase, while Panama had the highest decline at 23%. Global aluminium export is forecast to hit $199.8 billion by 2026, from $187.9 billion in 2021. This is an annual growth rate of 1.1%. Since 2017, global supply has increased by 4.8% each year. China was the top aluminium exporter in 2021, with $29.2 billion. Germany, the US, and Canada followed in second, third, and fourth place. Myanmar had the strongest growth, up 75.5%, while Gambia saw the largest decline of 44.8%.
