Japan's aluminium exports are predicted to reach nearly $2.3 billion by 2026, up slightly from $2.3 billion in 2021. On average, the supply of aluminium from Japan has grown by 0.9% a year since 1993. In 2021, Japan was the 23rd largest aluminium exporter in the world, with Iceland overtaking it to claim the top spot with exports of $2.3 billion. Germany, the US and Canada came in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Japanese aluminium imports are forecast to reach nearly $8.7 billion by 2026, up 0.5% from $8.4 billion in 2021. Since 1993, demand for aluminium imports in Japan has increased by 4% annually. In 2021, Germany was the largest aluminium importer in the world, taking the top spot from Japan with imports of $8.4 billion. Germany, Japan and France came in second, third and fourth place respectively.
