From 2013 to 2023, the consumption of primary solid biofuels in Poland's industry has shown a general upward trend, albeit with some fluctuations. Starting from 53.21 thousand terajoules in 2013, it reached 73.33 thousand terajoules in 2023. There were significant increases in 2016, 2017, and 2019, alongside a notable drop in 2021 with a 19.7% decline. Over the last two years, the consumption grew by 9.75% in 2022 and 2.69% in 2023. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2018 to 2023 was 1.28%, indicating moderate growth.
Looking ahead from 2024, it is forecasted that the consumption will continue to rise, reaching 82.67 thousand terajoules by 2028. The forecasted 5-year CAGR stands at 1.9%, equating to an overall growth rate of 9.88% over this period.
