In 2023, Germany led in wooden packaging waste generation with 3.4717 million metric tons, followed by Spain and Italy. Spain witnessed the most significant year-on-year increase at nearly 58%. Conversely, France saw a slight decline. Other notable increases were observed in Romania (24.21%) and the Netherlands (9.12%). The United Kingdom's growth was modest at 1.32%. Smaller countries like Malta and Iceland recorded decreases, with Iceland showing a notable drop of 21.89%.
