In 2023, Ireland led European healthcare expenditure on hospitals by voluntary health insurance schemes at €452.12 per capita, experiencing a modest 1.45% growth. Conversely, Hungary, indicating the lowest per capita expenditure, registered an 8.45% increase. Significant growth in investment was seen in Malta (62.2%) and Latvia (48.88%), whereas Liechtenstein and Luxembourg saw the greatest declines at -6.83% and -6.94%, respectively.
