The United States led the way in global passenger transport expenditure in 2021, with $46 billion. The United Kingdom, France and Canada came in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Croatia saw the strongest growth in expenditure in the period 2016 to 2021, rising 37%, while Slovenia had the steepest decline, dropping 10%.
