Argentina's pigment exports plummeted to roughly 22,000 kilograms in 2023, marking a steep 57.5% decline from the previous year's 52,000 kilograms. This downturn continues a long-term trend, with the country's pigment supply decreasing by an average of 33.3% annually since 1998. In the global rankings for 2023, Argentina placed 55th. Oman surpassed Argentina, exporting the same amount at approximately 22,000 kilograms. Leading the rankings were Germany, Saudi Arabia, and China, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. On the import side, Argentina saw a slight increase in pigment imports in 2017. The country imported around 1.14 million kilograms, up 2.3% from the 1.12 million kilograms recorded in 2016. Despite this uptick, Argentina's pigment demand has been on a gradual decline, falling by an average of 3.2% each year since 1998.
