Since 1996, the country's pigment supply has experienced a similar year-on-year decrease of 0.2%. In the global ranking for 2023, Germany secured the second spot, with India leading at 22.4 million kilograms. Trailing Germany, Saudi Arabia and China took the third and fourth positions, respectively. On the import side, Germany received roughly 3.5 million kilograms of pigments in 2023, a significant drop from about 4.9 million kilograms in 2022. This represents a sharp 27.7% decline compared to the previous year. The country's demand for pigments has been on a downward trend since 1996, with an annual decrease averaging 16.8%.
