Mexico's pigment export industry experienced a significant decline in 2018, with shipments totaling 322,000 kilograms. This represents a 33.4% decrease from the 483,000 kilograms exported in 2017. The downturn is part of a longer-term trend, with supply dropping by 35.6% annually since 1995. In contrast, Mexico's pigment imports are projected to reach 88,000 kilograms by 2020, a steep drop from the 3.7 million kilograms imported in 2015. This decline reflects an average annual decrease of 49.3%. Despite this recent downward trend, the overall demand for pigments in Mexico has risen by 7.7% year on year since 1995.
