Spanish pigment export is projected to hit approximately 3.54 million kilograms by 2028, up from around 3.14 million kilograms in 2023. This reflects an annual growth rate of 2%. In 2023, Spain ranked 19th globally in pigment exports, with Malaysia just ahead, also at 3.14 million kilograms. Leading the global export rankings were Germany, Saudi Arabia, and China, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. On the import front, Spanish pigment imports are expected to decrease to roughly 3.35 million kilograms by 2028, down from about 3.47 million kilograms in 2023. This marks a slight annual decline of 0.5%. However, since 1994, Spain's pigment demand has seen a 1.5% annual increase, indicating a long-term upward trend in the country's pigment consumption.
