Ethiopia is on track to become one of the world’s largest milk producers, with production estimated to reach 3.9 million metric tons by 2026. Since 1998, Ethiopian milk production has been increasing at a rate of 1.2% annually. In 2021, the country came in at number 34 on the global list, with 3.7 million metric tons. Bangladesh took the lead with 3.7 million metric tons, followed by the United States Virgin Islands, Pakistan and Brazil.
