New Zealand's milk production is set to increase by 1.3% year on year on average over the next five years, from 24 million metric tons in 2021 to 25 million metric tons in 2026. In 2021, New Zealand was the ninth largest milk producing country in the world with 22.6 million metric tons. Colombia overtook it to take the lead, followed by the United States Virgin Islands, Pakistan and Brazil in second, third and fourth place respectively. Since 1966, New Zealand's milk production has grown steadily at a rate of 0.9% year on year.
