Consumption of milk is expected to increase steadily over the next five years. According to data from the European Commission, sales of milk in the EU are expected to reach €427 million by 2026. This represents a 0.9% year-on-year growth rate, up from 1.7% in 2020. The UK, Italy, and France ranked second, third, and fourth respectively for milk consumption. Danish milk production is also expected to grow in the coming years. It is estimated to reach 6 million metric tons by 2026, an average increase of 0.8% from 2021. This figure is up from the 1% year-on-year growth rate seen since 1966. In 2021, Kazakhstan was the largest producer of milk with 5.7 million metric tons, while the US Virgin Islands, Pakistan, and Brazil came in second, third, and fourth respectively.
