The prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Uganda is set to drop by 3.5% in 2026 compared to 2021, according to data from 1995. In 2021, the country was ranked 6th with 79,780 people aged 0-14 suffering from HIV/AIDS. Tanzania came ahead with 96,510 units. Nigeria, Mozambique and Tanzania were the second, third and fourth respectively on the ranking. Meanwhile, the treatment coverage for people living with HIV in Uganda rose to 94% in 2021, compared to 90% in 2020, representing an increase of 4.4 points. Since 2006, the market has grown by 8.7 points year on year, ranking Uganda as 6th in 2021, with Denmark taking the lead with 94%. Cape Verde, Latvia and Zimbabwe ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
