Rwanda is set to experience a decrease in HIV AIDS prevalence in children aged 0-14, dropping by 8.7% year on year on average from 2021 to 2026. Since 1995, Rwanda has seen a 9.1% decrease in this demographic. In 2021, Rwanda came in at 24th place, with 11,200 HIV AIDS cases reported, while Mali came in at 11,200. Nigeria, Mozambique, and Tanzania followed as numbers 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Treatment coverage for those living with HIV has seen an increase in Rwanda, with 96% of persons living with HIV in 2021, up from 92% in 2020. Since 2009, Rwanda has seen a 3.5% increase in this figure. Zimbabwe overtook Rwanda in 2021, with 96% of persons living with HIV, while Cape Verde, Latvia, and Zimbabwe followed as numbers 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
