The prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Burkina Faso is projected to drop by 9.4% on average each year through 2026. This will lead to a total decrease of 8.6% since 1995. In 2021, Burkina Faso was ranked 20th, with 14,690 people aged 0-14 living with the virus. Indonesia had the highest rate, with Nigeria, Mozambique and Tanzania taking the second, third and fourth spots respectively. The country’s HIV/AIDS treatment coverage is also set to increase, going from 75% in 2021 to 91% in 2026. That’s an average growth of 3.1% each year since 2008. South Africa had the highest rate in 2021, with Cape Verde, Latvia and Zimbabwe following in second, third and fourth place.
