Malaysia is expecting to see an increase in goat meat consumption to 27 thousand metric tons by 2026. This growth rate is expected to remain steady at 0.4% year-on-year since 2017. In 2021, Malaysia ranked 62nd in terms of goat meat consumption, with Peru taking the lead at 26 thousand metric tons. India, Pakistan and Iran came in second, third and fourth respectively. In terms of goat meat production, Malaysia is expecting a slight decrease of 1.6% to 3.6 thousand metric tons by 2026. This rate has remained the same since 2017. In 2021, Malaysia ranked 100th in terms of goat meat production, with the Czech Republic coming in first at four thousand metric tons. Australia, India and Pakistan came in second, third and fourth respectively.
