Kenyan aluminium imports rose 9.6% in 2018, reaching $151 million. This was up from the $138 million imported in 2017. Since 1997, Kenyan demand for aluminium has increased by an average of 2.7% each year. In contrast, exports of aluminium from Kenya dropped 35.7% in 2018, to $18 million. This was down from the $27.8 million exported in 2017. Since 1997, Kenyan supplies of aluminium have decreased by 20.2% year on year.
