Rwandan demand for aluminium is set to reach $22.4 million by 2026, up from $19.5 million in 2021. This growth of 2.3% year on year will be an average since 2001, when the demand was 4.7% higher each year. In 2021, Rwanda was the 117th biggest importer of aluminium, while Madagascar was ahead with $18.6 million. Germany, Japan and France took the second, third and fourth places in the ranking. Rwandan supply of aluminium is also expected to grow, reaching $998,170 by 2026 from $830,880 in 2021. This 3.1% year on year growth is an average since 2001, when the supply increased 1.9% annually. In 2021, Rwanda was the 116th biggest exporter of aluminium, with Suriname overtaking it with $830,880. Germany, the United States and Canada took second, third and fourth place in the ranking.
