Australia ranked 17th in the global aluminium export rankings in 2021, behind South Korea at $3.5 billion. Germany, the United States and Canada occupied the second, third and fourth spots. Australian aluminium imports are predicted to reach $2.6 billion in 2026, a yearly average growth of 2.7% since 2021. Demand has grown by 9% since 1993, putting Australia in 23rd place in the global aluminium import rankings in 2021. Indonesia came ahead at $2.2 billion, while Germany, Japan and France followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
