In 2021, the country ranked 21st, with Denmark overtaking the South African export figure of $25.2 million. The United States, Singapore and Ireland ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Imports of South African whisky are expected to reach $159 million by 2026, down 1.1% year-on-year on a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) basis. This follows a 0.1% decline since 2005. In 2021, South Africa's whisky import figure was $169.3 million.
