Consumption of poultry meat in Sri Lanka is forecast to reach 114,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a slight increase of 0.3% from 2021, when it stood at 112,000 metric tons. In 2021, Sri Lanka ranked 78th in terms of poultry meat consumption, overtaken by Ireland with 112,000 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Russia ranked respectively 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Meanwhile, production of poultry meat in Sri Lanka is expected to reach 215,500 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average annual rate of 1.3%. This is an increase of 2.1% since 2017. In 2021, Sri Lanka was 53rd in terms of poultry meat production, overtaken by Tunisia with 199,000 metric tons. China, Brazil and Russia ranked respectively 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
