China is expected to be the world's second largest producer and consumer of poultry meat in the coming years. Production is forecast to reach 21.3 million metric tons by 2026, an increase of 0.6% year on year. This follows a 0.7% year-on-year rise since 2017. Meanwhile, consumption is set to rise 0.3% year on year to 21.3 million metric tons by 2026, after a 0.3% year-on-year growth since 2017. The US, Brazil and Russia are expected to be the next biggest producers and consumers of poultry meat after China, in that order.
