Consumption of sunflower oil in Tanzania is predicted to reach nearly 300,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 258,000 metric tons in 2021. This would represent an average growth rate of 2.1% a year since 2017. Italy was the biggest consumer of sunflower oil in 2021, followed by Russia, Spain, and Argentina. Meanwhile, production of sunflower oil in Tanzania is forecast to reach 362,660 metric tons by 2026, up from 303,900 metric tons in 2021. This would represent an average annual growth rate of 3% since 1971. South Africa was the largest producer in 2021, followed by Russia, Argentina, and Hungary.
