Kyrgyzsunflower oil consumption is set to reach 22,000 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 0.9% each year. Demand has remained steady since 2017, with the country coming in at number 49 in 2021. South Korea was ahead at 21,000 metric tons. Russia, Spain, and Argentina followed respectively. Production of Kyrgyz sunflower oil decreased sharply in 2018, dropping to 318 metric tons from 427 metric tons in 2017. This was a 25.5% decrease compared to the year before. Since 1997, production has decreased by 19.8% on average each year. In 2018, Albania overtook Kyrgyzstan with 318 metric tons. Russia, Argentina, and Hungary followed respectively.
