Consumption of sunflower oil in Afghanistan is expected to reach 32,000 metric tons by 2026, according to a new report. That's up from 29,000 metric tons in 2021, growing at an average of 1.3% year-on-year. Demand for the oil has remained stable since 2017, but the country slipped to 38th place in 2021, with Macedonia overtaking it with 29,000 metric tons. Russia, Spain and Argentina respectively came in second, third and fourth place in the ranking. Production of sunflower oil in Afghanistan is expected to reach 3,380 metric tons by 2026, up from 2,940 metric tons in 2021. This represents an average growth rate of 2.3% year-on-year since 1966. The country slipped to 62nd place in 2021, with Angola overtaking it with 2,940 metric tons. Russia, Argentina and Hungary respectively ranked second, third and fourth in this ranking.
