Slovak consumption of sunflower oil is predicted to remain the same between 2021 and 2026, according to recent estimates. In 2021, it was the 58th largest consumer of the oil, behind Albania at 18 thousand metric tons. Meanwhile, Russia, Spain, and Argentina were the top three consumers. Slovak production of sunflower oil is expected to decrease significantly over the same period of time, from 8,730 metric tons in 2021 to just 2,740 metric tons in 2026. This would mark an average annual decrease of 18.9%. In 2021, the country was the 47th largest producer, behind Thailand at 8,730 metric tons. Russia, Argentina, and Hungary were the top three producers.
