From 2017 to 2021, the nation's demand for sunflower oil fell annually by 0.3%. In 2021, Ukraine placed 13th in the world rankings, with Tanzania overtaking it at 238,000 metric tons. Russia, Spain, and Argentina took the top three spots in the rankings. Meanwhile, Ukrainian sunflower oil production is expected to hit 6.8 million metric tons in 2026, growing 2.6% on a yearly basis from 2021's 5.8 million metric tons. Since 1997, Ukrainian production of sunflower oil has increased by 5.7% per year. Russia, Argentina, and Hungary placed second, third, and fourth in the rankings.
