Demand for sunflower oil in Iran is predicted to fall by 0.3% year on year to 289,260 metric tons by 2026. This is a slight decrease from 2021 figures of 294,000 metric tons, when the country ranked eighth in global consumption. South Africa was ahead with 294,000 metric tons. Russia, Spain and Argentina came in second, third and fourth respectively. Iranian sunflower oil production is expected to rise to 72,370 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 2.8% year on year. This is an increase from 2021 figures of 61,430 metric tons, putting the country in 24th place in global production. Myanmar topped the rankings with 61,430 metric tons, followed by Russia, Argentina and Hungary.
