Consumption of sunflower oil in Burma is forecast to decline to 41,000 metric tons by 2026, from 44,000 metric tons in 2021. This represents an annual decrease of 1%. Since 2017, demand in Burma has dropped by 0.8% year on year. In 2021, Burma ranked 32nd in the world for sunflower oil consumption, behind Portugal's 44,000 metric tons. Russia, Spain and Argentina came in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Burmese production of sunflower oil is expected to drop to 31,590 metric tons by 2026, from 60,550 metric tons in 2021. This works out to an average annual decline of 10.8%. Since 1966, Burmese production has fallen by 13.6% year on year. In 2021, Burma ranked 25th in the world for sunflower oil production, behind Austria's 60,550 metric tons. Russia, Argentina and Hungary came in second, third and fourth place respectively.
