Consumption of sunflower oil in Malaysia is projected to reach 10,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 8,000 tons in 2021. On average, demand is set to grow by 4.6% year-on-year. Since 2020, Malaysian consumption has risen by 26%. In 2021, Malaysia came in at number 79 in the global ranking, with Mongolia overtaking them at 8,000 metric tons. Russia, Spain and Argentina respectively were numbers 2, 3 and 4 in the list. Meanwhile, Malaysian production of sunflower oil is predicted to reach 9,240 metric tons by 2026, up from 7,190 tons in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 4.1%. Since 1983, Malaysian output has risen by 32.4%. In 2021, Sweden came out on top with 7,190 metric tons, while Malaysia occupied the 51st position. Russia, Argentina, and Hungary followed in positions 2, 3 and 4.
