Consumption of sunflower oil in Iraq is set to reach 242.21 thousand metric tons by 2026, up from 234 thousand metric tons in 2021, growing at an average rate of 0.6% year on year. Since 2017, Iraqi demand has increased at a rate of 0.6% annually. Iraq is the 14th largest consumer of sunflower oil in 2021, behind Ukraine’s 234 thousand metric tons. Russia, Spain, and Argentina are the top three consumers, respectively. Iraqi production of sunflower oil is forecast to reach 17,670 metric tons by 2026, up from 14,700 metric tons in 2021, at an average rate of 3.1% year on year. Since 1966, Iraqi supply has grown at an average rate of 3.2% annually. In 2021, Iraq is the 40th largest producer of sunflower oil, behind Paraguay’s 14,700 metric tons. Russia, Argentina, and Hungary take the top three spots, respectively.
