Uruguay’s soybean oil consumption is projected to remain stable until 2026, when it is expected to reach 23 thousand metric tons. This will place Uruguay in 60th place, just behind Bolivia. China, India and Brazil, meanwhile, occupied the top three spots in the latest ranking. Uruguay’s soybean oil production is also on the rise, reaching 14,520 metric tons by 2026. This is an average growth rate of 2% since 1966, when the country recorded an 8.2% year-on-year increase. Uruguay currently stands at 55th place in the rankings, just below Belgium. The United States, Brazil and Argentina are in the top three positions.
