On the production side, Colombian spice output is expected to reach nearly 25,000 metric tons by 2028, up slightly from 24,000 metric tons in 2023. This marks an annual growth rate of 0.6%. Since 2019, Colombia's spice production has increased by 1.8% annually. In 2023, the country ranked 34th in global spice production, with Bosnia and Herzegovina surpassing it at 24,000 metric tons. China, Nigeria, and Indonesia held the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively, in this category.
