This marks a stable average rate in the spice market for the country over the five-year period. Since 2019, German demand for spices has seen a modest annual increase of 0.3%. In the global ranking for 2023, Germany secured the 21st position. Leading the way, Benin surpassed Germany slightly, also recording around 67,000 metric tons. The top spots in the spice consumption rankings were claimed by Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Thailand, which occupied the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
