Sierra Leone is poised to see a modest increase in its spice production over the next five years. The nation's output is projected to rise from 7,000 metric tons in 2023 to approximately 7,300 metric tons by 2028, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 0.5%. Despite this growth, Sierra Leone's spice supply has remained stable since 2019. In 2023, the country ranked 46th in global spice production, trailing behind Fiji, which also produced 7,000 metric tons. Leading the global rankings were China, Nigeria, and Indonesia, securing the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. On the consumption front, Sierra Leone is expected to see a slight uptick as well. The country's spice consumption is anticipated to grow from 6,000 metric tons in 2023 to about 6,040 metric tons by 2028, marking an average annual increase of 0.1%. Since 2019, Sierra Leone's spice demand has remained unchanged. In the 2023 rankings, the country was 63rd, with Senegal surpassing it at 6,000 metric tons. The top spots in spice consumption were held by Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Thailand, in that order.
