Burkinabe spice consumption is projected to reach approximately 7,300 metric tons by 2028, up from about 7,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an annual growth rate of 0.6%. Since 2019, Burkinabe demand for spices has remained steady. In 2023, the country ranked 61st in global spice consumption, with the Czech Republic surpassing it at around 7,000 metric tons. Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Thailand held the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. In terms of production, Burkina Faso has maintained a stable output. The country produced approximately 6,000 metric tons of spices in both 2018 and 2017.
