Since 2019, Burkinabe demand for spices has remained steady. In 2023, the country ranked 61st in global spice consumption, with the Czech Republic surpassing it at around 7,000 metric tons. Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Thailand held the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. In terms of production, Burkina Faso has maintained a stable output. The country produced approximately 6,000 metric tons of spices in both 2018 and 2017.
