On the production front, Spain's spice output is expected to reach 16,600 metric tons by 2028, growing from 16,000 metric tons in 2023 at an average annual rate of 0.5%. Since 2019, Spanish spice production has seen a yearly increase of 1.3%. In 2023, Spain ranked 40th in global spice production, with Laos just ahead at 16,000 metric tons. The top positions were held by China, Nigeria, and Indonesia, ranking second, third, and fourth respectively.
