Grape consumption in Japan is predicted to reach 161,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 0.1% year-on-year increase from 2021, when the country was ranked 28th in the world with 160,000 metric tons. Moldova came in ahead of Japan with the same amount. The United States, India, and Iran were ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Japanese grape production is expected to drop by 1.2% year-on-year to 156,670 metric tons in 2026. This is a decrease from 167,830 metric tons in 2021, when Japan was ranked 39th for production. Tunisia was ahead of Japan with the same amount, while Italy, the United States, and Spain took the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
