Bangladeshi melon production is projected to increase by about 8,000 metric tons over the next five years. The country was the fifteenth largest producer in 2021, with 247,320 metric tons. This was a slight decrease from the 1966 level, when production dropped 0.2% annually. India, Kazakhstan and Iran held the second, third and fourth highest melon production rankings in 2021, respectively. Honduras overtook Bangladesh in 2021, producing 247,320 metric tons. Over the next five years, Bangladeshi melon production is expected to grow at a rate of 0.7% per year, reaching 255,860 metric tons by 2026.
