Japanese melon production is forecast to fall by 3.5% year-on-year, on average, to approximately 109,000 metric tons by 2026. This follows a decrease of 3.3% year-on-year since 1966. In 2021, Japan was ranked 20th, with 134,050 metric tons, overtaken by Iraq. India, Kazakhstan and Iran came in second, third and fourth place respectively.
