Spain's melon production is set to drop by 2.7% a year on average over the next five years. This follows a downward trend since 1966, with a 1.1% decrease each year. In 2021, Spain was the ninth biggest producer of melons, with 523,790 metric tons. Mexico led the way, with 613,870 metric tons, followed by India, Kazakhstan, and Iran.
