Lebanon's melon production is predicted to grow by 0.6% year on year over the next five years. In 2021, the country was the 51st largest producer, with 19,350 metric tons. This was significantly lower than in 1966, when production had fallen by 0.4% year on year. Saudi Arabia overtook Lebanon in 2021, producing 19,350 metric tons. India, Kazakhstan and Iran were the 2nd, 3rd and 4th largest producers respectively.
